if this is the wrong section, would some mod please move this? thanks!
While installing subsonic, i ran into the problem that i could connect from the pc subsonic was running on (via http://localhost) but noone from outside could. after fiddling with the NAT setting on my router and still getting no response from my tester, i got the tip that maybe the windows firewall is blocking inbound traffic to subsonic. sure enough this was the case. i just didnt notice it, because it's installed as service where the firewall doesnt ask if it should block the app or not.
so my "feature request" is, to add information about this behaviour of the windows firewall to the "getting started" html page that comes with subsonic.
this happened under winXP pro SP2. |

stupid me^^ including it in the installer is of course the rational thing to do. I was just stumped after install to find nothing about firewall exceptions on the "getting started"page, so i thought about 1 meter further ahead |

How can I configure the firewall on my computer to use a Peer2Peer service? I want to use something like LimeWire, Frostwire, Ares, etc, but nothing works because of the firewall. I used to be able to connect to LimeWire, until I updated it with their newer version. Now I can't use any P2P service.
